Tour overview
The whole island, its famous corners and its hidden ones, at an easy island pace.
Zanzibar is made up of two large islands, Unguja (Zanzibar Island) and Pemba, together with many smaller islets, covering a total area of 2,462 km². Zanzibar Island alone measures about 85 km long and 25–30 km wide, and with ten nights here you have the time to explore all of its most scenic and beautiful corners rather than just the highlights.
Alongside the favourites, Stone Town, Changuu (Prison) Island, Mnemba Island, Jozani Forest, Nungwi and Kizimkazi, this journey takes you to the unusual, less-visited places rich in wildlife and in the history of the sultans: Chapwani (Grave) Island, the Mangapwani Slave Cave, the Mtoni and Maruhubi palaces and the Persian baths of Kidichi and Kizimbani.
You stay first in the romantic heart of Stone Town, then on the beaches of the far north at Nungwi, then on the south-west coast near Kizimkazi, before returning to Stone Town for Chumbe Island and a final day at leisure. Book with us and enjoy it to the full; unforgettable memories are waiting. The itinerary can also be combined with a safari on the Northern or Western circuits.

Day01Arrival at Zanzibar International Airport and transfer to Stone Town
On arrival at Zanzibar International Airport you will be met by a member of the Gip-Adventure Tours & Safaris team and transferred to your hotel in Stone Town.
What we love about the hotel is its setting in the heart of romantic Stone Town, cooled by the breezes of the Spice Island. It offers the ultimate escape from everyday life, with sweeping views across the Zanzibar waterfront and direct access to the beach, and rooms ranging from standard rooms to prime rooms and suites. Enjoy dinner and your first night on the island.

Day04Kidichi and Kizimbani Persian baths, Mangapwani Slave Cave and on to Nungwi
After breakfast at around 08:00 you visit the Persian baths of Kidichi and Kizimbani, built for the sultan and his household, and the Mangapwani Slave Cave, a moving reminder of the island's past. Lunch is taken along the way.
In the afternoon you continue north to your beach resort in Nungwi. What we love about the resort is its beautiful design and relaxed, friendly atmosphere, run on an all-inclusive basis, with four swimming pools, a jacuzzi, water aerobics, water polo, a fitness centre, a scuba-diving centre, table tennis, darts, beach volleyball, evening entertainment and a spa. Dinner and overnight at the resort.

Day05Nungwi: Ras Nungwi, Mnarani Turtle Sanctuary and Nungwi village
After breakfast at around 08:00 you discover the best of Nungwi's attractions, beginning at Ras Nungwi on the island's northern tip.

Day06Mnemba Island
After breakfast at around 08:00 you transfer to Mnemba Island for the day, with lunch included. The waters here are home to a healthy population of the world's largest fish, the whale shark, as well as several unusual waders and other marine birds.
The coral sand and white beaches are fine and cool underfoot, and the reef is perfect for snorkelling. If you are in no hurry, the far north has a great deal to offer. In the afternoon you return to your resort for dinner and the night.

Day07Kizimkazi dolphins and transfer to the south-west coast
After breakfast at around 08:00 you travel to Kizimkazi on the south-western tip of the island, with lunch along the way.
This small fishing town is famous as the best place on Zanzibar to see humpback and bottlenose dolphins, both of which are resident in the area.
Afterwards you transfer to your resort on this coast. What we love about it are its 66 luxuriously appointed villas, which fuse contemporary style with the elegance of the island's African heritage; relaxing comes easily on an outdoor deck with wicker chairs and daybeds overlooking a private pool and soothing gardens. Dinner and overnight at the resort.

Day08Dimbani Mosque, Jozani Forest Reserve and return to Stone Town

Jozani protects the last substantial remnant of the indigenous forest that once covered much of central Zanzibar. It is home to the unique Kirk's red colobus monkey and Aders' duiker, coastal forest birds including the endemic race of the lovely Fischer's turaco, mangrove habitat and much more.
Afterwards you continue to your hotel in Stone Town for dinner and the night.
