Fly-in & Luxury Safaris

Light-aircraft flights between parks, the finest lodges and camps, and private guiding: the most comfortable way to see East Africa.

A fly-in safari replaces long road transfers with short, scenic flights in light aircraft, so you spend your time watching wildlife rather than driving to it. Combined with our Platinum lodges and camps, it is the most comfortable and time-efficient way to experience East Africa.

On arrival at each airstrip, your guide and vehicle meet you for game drives in the park. Remote parks such as Ruaha, Katavi and Mahale, and the far north of the Serengeti, are much easier to reach by air.

Duration

Every itinerary is an example: we tailor the days, parks and lodges to you.

What makes these trips special

  • Short flights between parks and to Zanzibar, with views of the plains and craters from the air.
  • The finest lodges and tented camps, with exceptional food, service and views.
  • Private vehicles and guides at each park.
  • Optional extras such as hot-air balloon flights over the Serengeti and helicopter scenic flights.

Luggage on light aircraft

Bush flights usually allow about 15 kg per person in a soft bag. We can store extra luggage in Arusha.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Still wondering about something? Our team in Arusha answers every message personally.

Is a fly-in safari more expensive?

Flights add to the cost, but they save time and can replace nights spent on the road. For a short trip or remote parks, flying can be the best value.

Can I combine flying and driving?

Yes. Many of our guests drive through Tarangire and Ngorongoro, then fly out of the Serengeti to Zanzibar or Arusha.
