Mount Kilimanjaro Helicopter Scenic Safari

Africa's highest mountain is breathtaking from any angle, but nothing compares with seeing it from the air. This scenic helicopter safari lifts off from Moshi Airport and spends a full hour skirting the Kilimanjaro massif, revealing landscapes that climbers spend a week walking through.

Along the way you can take in Mount Meru, the Big and Small Momella lakes and the Ngurdoto caldera in Arusha National Park, West Kilimanjaro and the Shira Plateau, the forests of Kilimanjaro National Park, the glaciers and the great peaks of Kibo and Mawenzi. You will see every one of the mountain's climbing routes laid out below, and fly over Lake Chala on the mountain's eastern side.

You fly in an award-winning Airbus H125, which outclasses other single-engine helicopters in hot and high conditions. It has dual hydraulics, an enhanced-safety VEMD system and satellite tracking, ample legroom and a comfortable ride, with left and right-hand sliding doors that can be left open or closed in flight. Our flights are led by expert pilots with decades of experience between them, specialists in helicopter safaris throughout sub-Saharan Africa who hold both FAA and KCAA commercial pilots' licences and are qualified flight instructors.

Please note that flying above the crater of Kilimanjaro is not possible, as it is prohibited under the rules of Kilimanjaro National Park. A minimum of four guests applies to helicopter safaris in Tanzania, and each aircraft carries up to four adults or two adults and three children, with luggage limited to 15 kg per person in soft bags only.
