Tour overview
The whole of the wild south, from the Rufiji to the Great Ruaha.
This safari is designed for keen safari-goers and nature lovers who want the widest possible experience of southern Tanzania. Over thirteen days you combine four of the region's finest parks, with activities shaped around your wishes and interests: hiking, cultural visits, bush meals and sundowners, boating and walking safaris and spectacular game viewing.
You begin with four nights in Nyerere National Park, the former Selous, in a camp overlooking the Rufiji River, with boat and walking safaris, a bonfire and a hot-air balloon safari included. Three nights in Mikumi follow, with game drives across its open floodplain and a day trip to Udzungwa Mountains National Park, where forest trails lead to the 170 m Sanje Waterfalls.
Then it is on to Ruaha, Tanzania's second-largest park and one of its wildest, for three nights among great herds of elephant, lion, greater kudu and wild dog, before a final night back in Mikumi and the drive to Dar es Salaam. Travel in style, stay in the wilderness and become part of it – the southern circuit at its very best.
