5-Day Uganda (Entebbe Start): Wildlife, Lakes, and Timeless Landscapes
Rhinos on foot, giraffes on the savannah and the mighty Nile thundering through a narrow gorge, five days of Uganda's wildest landscapes from Entebbe.

- 5 Days / 4 Nights
- Private Safari
Tour overview
Follow the Nile from Lake Victoria to the roaring heart of Murchison Falls.
From the shores of Lake Victoria to the papyrus delta of Lake Albert, this five-day safari follows the Nile through some of Uganda's most dramatic scenery. It is a superb choice for first-time visitors who want big game, water and wild landscapes without long transfers to the far southwest.
On the way north you stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary to track white rhinos on foot, the only place in Uganda where they can be seen. Murchison Falls National Park then gives you two full days: game drives among Rothschild's giraffes, elephants and lions on the northern bank, a launch trip to the foot of the falls, a boat ride to the Nile Delta in search of the shoebill, and a walk to the top of the falls, where the whole river squeezes through a 7-metre gorge.
You begin and end in Entebbe, with a gentle first evening by Lake Victoria to rest after your flight.

Day01Arrival at Entebbe International Airport
Welcome to Uganda, the Pearl of Africa. Your driver-guide meets you in the arrivals hall at Entebbe International Airport and takes you the short distance to your hotel in Entebbe, a calm garden town on a peninsula on the northern shore of Lake Victoria.
Depending on your arrival time, the rest of the day is yours to settle in. If you land early, your guide can take you to the Entebbe Botanical Gardens, laid out in 1898 along the lakeshore, or to the Uganda Wildlife Conservation Education Centre for a first look at the country's animals.
In the evening your guide briefs you on the journey ahead before dinner and a restful first night beside the lake.

Day02Entebbe to Murchison Falls via Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary
After an early breakfast you drive north through Kampala and out into open countryside towards Masindi. About 3 hours from the capital you reach Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, the only place in Uganda to see wild rhinos. White rhinos were lost from the country during years of conflict, and Ziwa's carefully guarded breeding programme is bringing them back. With a ranger you walk quietly through the bush to watch these huge animals grazing just a few metres away.
After lunch you continue north to Murchison Falls National Park, Uganda's oldest and largest park, arriving at your lodge in the late afternoon. The total driving time is around 5–6 hours plus the rhino walk.

Day03Game drive and boat trip to the foot of Murchison Falls
An early start takes you across the Victoria Nile by ferry at Paraa to the northern bank, where the Buligi game tracks wind through borassus palms and open grassland towards the shores of Lake Albert. This is the park's richest wildlife area: Rothschild's giraffes, elephants, buffaloes, Jackson's hartebeest, Uganda kob and oribi are all common, and lions and leopards are seen regularly.
After lunch you board a launch from Paraa for a cruise upstream towards the falls. Hippos and crocodiles line the banks, elephants and buffaloes come down to drink, and the birdlife is outstanding. The boat stops below the falls, where the whole of the Nile crashes through the gorge in a cloud of spray.

Day04Nile Delta boat trip and the top of the falls
This morning you head downstream by boat to the Nile Delta, where the river spreads into papyrus channels before entering Lake Albert. It is one of the best places in Uganda to search for the prehistoric-looking shoebill stork, along with goliath herons, African jacanas and many more of the park's 451 recorded bird species.
In the afternoon you drive to the top of Murchison Falls. Here the Victoria Nile forces itself through a gap in the rock just 7 metres wide before plunging 45 metres into the cauldron below. A short trail follows the gorge, and standing in the roar and the spray is one of the most powerful experiences in Uganda.
Return to your lodge for a final evening in the park.

Day05Murchison Falls to Entebbe and departure
After breakfast you leave the park and drive south via Masindi and Kampala to Entebbe, a journey of about 6–7 hours depending on city traffic. You stop for lunch along the way.
On arrival your guide takes you straight to Entebbe International Airport for your departure flight, carrying memories of rhinos, the thundering Nile and the wildlife of Uganda's largest park.
